Let's start with a blank canvas.

Fine Art Canvases was formed with the simple goal of making the best possible artist's canvases available – a need born from the frustration of using cheap, mass-produced canvases which often warp, twist and sag tarnishing the quality of any artwork.

More than the sum of its parts

Wrapped Up Beautifully

We carry a stock of commonly used artist's grade canvas weights which come ready primed with a universal primer for painting with acrylics or oils. Again, as we offer a bespoke service if you require a more specialist canvas please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Frame Profiles

All of our timber is sourced from well-established, FSC certified European saw-mills and selected for it's low knot content and kiln dried to create a strong, durable frame which gives the mouldings a much higher torsional strength and eliminates any twisting or bending. This being said, all of our cut sections are still checked for any imperfections before being made into the frames so you can be confident that our canvases will stay straight and true and will carry your artwork perfectly.

Keeping Things Tight

Our canvases use a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques such as our expanding / stretcher joints which are simple to adjust using a standard 5mm hex key. We have found that this is the best, easiest and quickest way to accurately adjust the tension of the canvas without using fiddly, inconsistent and un-secure wooden wedges.
